In memory of Prof. Paul Rubel

I learned with sadness of the passing of Prof. Paul Rubel, professor at the INSA Lyon – Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Lyon, France. I had the pleasure and honor of meeting him at several Computing in Cardiology conferences, and working with him on the revision of the SCP-ECG standard. The latter was my first dive into the world of medical standards, and having Paul as an expert guide was fundamental for me: an incredible cultural and human enrichment. A warm thought to the family and to all the researchers who had the chance of sharing a piece of their academic journey with him. Thanks, Paul.
