Gianmarco Cherchi earned a BSc (with honours) in Computer Science in 2013, at the University of Cagliari, with the thesis “AR-Garden: Augmented assisted exploration of a botanical garden“.
During his MSc studies, he worked first in a local research group (CG3HCI of Professor Riccardo Scateni) and then as tutor of Algorithms and Data Structures at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari. He earned (with honours) his MSc in Computer Science in 2015, at the University of Cagliari, with the thesis “PolyCube Optimization: Generating Coarse Quad-Layouts via Smart Polycube Quantization“. This thesis won the “Best Thesis Award 2016” for the best thesis in computer graphics (Eurographics Italy Association).
Since 2015 he is a PhD Student at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cagliari, supervised by the professor Riccardo Scateni, and his research topics are Computer Graphics and Geometry Modeling.
