Call for submissions: Physiological and Biosignals Data for Stress Detection

We are pleased to announce that the official call for submissions is now open for the Scientific Data Collection titled “Physiological and biosignals data for stress detection”. Prof. Danilo Pani is serving as a Guest Editor for this initiative, which focuses on the critical intersection of biomedical signal processing and stress monitoring.

The strategic role of Data Descriptors

Unlike traditional research articles that focus on hypothesis testing or novel clinical interpretations, this Collection invites the submission of Data Descriptors. These are peer-reviewed, citable manuscripts that describe externally deposited datasets in rigorous detail.

The primary objective is to enhance the transparency and reproducibility of scientific research by documenting:

  • Experimental methods used for data acquisition and signal conditioning.
  • Technical validation and analyses supporting the quality of the measurements.
  • Detailed metadata to facilitate the reuse of data by the broader scientific community.

Submission guidelines and deadlines

We invite researchers and data scientists in the field to contribute their work to this Collection. The deadline for manuscript submission is November 17, 2026. However, if your team requires additional time, please reach out to us, as the editorial board may offer flexibility regarding the timeline.

To submit your manuscript:

  1. Access the Scientific Data online submission system.
  2. Select the “Physiological and biosignals data for stress detection” title from the Special Section drop-down menu.
  3. Clearly state your interest in this specific Collection within your cover letter or the “Manuscript Comment” field.

Editorial policies and Open Access

All submissions will undergo the standard peer-review process in accordance with the journal’s editorial policies. As a fully Open Access journal, an Article Processing Charge (APC) applies upon acceptance. We encourage corresponding authors to check their eligibility for APC waivers or discounts through institutional open access agreements with the publisher.
