Objectives: Develop an analytical method to measure hydrogen permeation in environments that simulate real conditions: Develop a prototype that allows measurement of hydrogen permeation in NiP alloys using bottled hydrogen gas, varying pressure and temperature. Eliminate arsenic (III) oxide, As₂O₃, using tests with a traditional D-S cell when hydrogen is produced via electrolysis
Working package 1: Hydrogen permeation from electrolysis without promoters and/or with alternatives to As₂O₃
- OO1.1: Develop an analytical method to measure hydrogen permeation using a traditional D-S cell without arsenic (III) oxide in the electrolysis cell.
- OO1.2: Develop an analytical method using alternative promoters to As₂O₃ for hydrogen dissociation in the D-S cell.
.Working package 2: Prototype development and implementation
- OO2.2: Finalize and optimize the designed prototype.
- OO2.1: Design a steel chamber prototype that allows variation of hydrogen pressure and test temperature, replacing the production cell in a traditional D-S electrochemical setup.
