OrBItaly 2017 will take place in Cagliari at the Fondazione di Sardegna, in via San Salvatore da Horta 2. The site, built at the end of the 19th century, is located in the historic center of Cagliari, close to the Castle district and the entrance to the Marina. The historical events of the bulding are complex and little-documented. A document written by Canon Spano in 1861 locates the National Guard building on this place. In 1912 the property was acquired by the local Cassa Ademprivile. Inside, the building is spread over three floors where the Fondazione di Sardegna activities take place. Tradition and modernity meet in the elegance of an architecture which, thanks to the recovery sought by the Fondazione di Sardegna, regains its centrality in the city context. Ground floor environments are functional to accommodate temporary and permanent cultural initiatives, conferences and debates in a bright and welcoming space. The place hosts a selection of works of art which relates the history of Sardinian art.
