Crowd Counting

Crowd counting consists of estimating the number of people in an image or video. It presents several issues such as different illumination conditions, background and perspective distortions, and occlusions.

This task can support human operators in monitoring activities and guaranteeing security of people in areas of interest. More recent crowd counting systems, in case of overcrowding, can send an alert to the operator who can act accordingly.
