How to reach Sardinia

The best way to reach Sardinia is by plane. Main airports in Sardinia are:
–Cagliari-Elmas Airport (10 km to downtown Cagliari)
–Olbia Airport (260 km to downtown Cagliari)
–Alghero Airport (240 km to downtown Cagliari)

Transfer service: Cagliari (Elmas) Airport <–> Hotel Flamingo Resort (via Cagliari city center).

The transfer services will be available in the afternoons of the 29th of May and 1st of June. 

• 29th of May:
  • From Cagliari city center to Elmas Airport at 18:30h. Bus stop at Stazione Marittima, in the city center, very close to the train station (please check this picture for the position).
  • From Elmas Airport (Arrival terminal, bus parking) to Hotel Flamingo Resort (Santa Margherita di Pula) at 19:15h.
• 1st of June:
  • From Flamingo Resort (Santa Margherita di Pula) to Elmas Airport at 15:00. A further stop at Cagliari city center (Stazione Marittima) is successively scheduled.

Please be on time at the bus stops. In order to recognize your bus, it will have on the windshield a tag indicating the name of the congress.

The stop at Cagliari city is intended to avoid a long wait at Elmas Airport for those people whose arrival or departure flight times are far from the scheduled transfers. These people can easily move from Elmas Airport to Cagliari city and viceversa by the train service (see below).

How to alternatively reach the conference venue

For people arriving on other dates, it is possible to book a transfer with the Hotel Flamingo Resort (email: concierge@hotelflamingo.it). Prices: car (3 seats) € 80, minibus (7 seats) € 120. The price can be divided among the passengers.

A cheaper route requires taking a train, a bus, and walking a bit, as follows: A train service from Cagliari-Elmas Airport to Cagliari is available every 20 minutes, from 5:00am until 9:00pm. It takes about 5 minutes. The train ticket (€ 1.30) can be purchased from a ticket machine at the airport. There is a bus from Cagliari bus station (in front of the railway station) to S. Margherita di Pula (near Hotel Flamingo) about every hour from 6:30am to 7:30pm. The bus timetable can be found here. The ticket office (Biglietteria) is inside the bus station. The price is € 3.10, and the travel lasts one hour. From S. Margherita di Pula bus stop to Hotel Flamingo there is a 800 meters walk (take the road to the beach).
