    Biographical Sketch

    Michele Nitti is an Associate Professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy. He received an M.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering with full marks in 2009 and his Ph.D. in Electronic and Computer Engineering in 2014.

    He is qualified for the position of Full professor according to (art. 16, comma 1, Legge 240/10) with validity from 17/12/2023 to 17/12/2034 (art. 16, comma 1, Legge 240/10) Scientific-Disciplinary Group 09/IINF-03, Telecommunication.

    Michele Nitti has been the PI of the project “Feedback Analysis and blockchain-based trust Evaluation” (FAKE), funded by the European Community in the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program as Cascade Call.

    He is now Co-Principal Investigator of the project “Metaverse & Human Digital Twin: digital identity, Biometrics and Privacy in the future virtual worlds” (METATwin), funded by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) – PRIN PNRR call (research projects of significant national interest) and of the project “models and algoriThms fOr 6G Era digital Twin orcHEstratoR” (TOGETHER), funded by the MUR (Ministry of University and Research) – PRIN call (research projects of significant national interest).

    He is currently a member of the Editorial Board for the Elsevier Computer Networks Journal and the IEEE Internet of Things Journal. Michele is co-founder of an academic spin-off (GreenShare s.r.l.), which works in the mobility sector. His main research interests are focused on trust management and cooperation in the Internet of Things (IoT), Digital Twins (DTs) and proactive architectures. Michele has published 50 papers and has received more than 3000 citations (source: Scopus) and he has been selected in the top 2% of most cited scientists in 2020, 2021 and 2022 according to Ioannidis, John PA. “September 2022 data-update for “Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators”. He is an IEEE Senior Member.
