The HIPPOCRATES project uses cutting-edge Channel State Information (CSI) technology as DT enabling technology. By analyzing and processing opportunistic radio channels realized by exploiting common and off-the-shelf WiFi devices (e.g., IEEE 802.11 Access Points and Wireless Network Interfaces), patients’ vital signs (heart rate and breathing rate) can be inferred. In addition to CSI, HIPPOCRATES employs Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) device virtualization to make wearable IoT devices independent of the deployed physical resources and to provide stimuli to the patient’s DT.
Thanks to the employment of innovative signal processing techniques and device virtualization, HIPPOCRATES enhances patients’ Quality of Life (QoL) in a transparent way with respect to the patient’s viewpoint. The HIPPOCRATES project achieves its goals by realizing a Digital Twin of the patient that is fueled through information sensed by wearable X73-compliant IoT devices and non-X73-compliant data acquired through Channel State Information (CSI) processing and other IoT devices. Such DT provides important feedback to the Real Twin (RT, i.e, the patient) that boosts the patient’s QoL. The DT also benefits from virtualized devices that are used to produce ”what-if” scenarios to strongly motivate the patients.
