Horizon Europe – how to get funds for your research and innovation projects

The course introduces second- and third-year PhD students to European Union funding opportunities for research and innovation, with a focus on the Horizon Europe program. Through lectures and hands-on training, participants will learn the fundamentals of European project planning: from project ideas to building international consortia, and preparing proposals according to the three evaluation criteria of excellence, impact, and implementation. Discussions and testimonials from researchers who have received funding for European projects will be provided.

The course will take place on May 7, 14, 21, 25, and 28, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Room 9, ARESU Campus, Via San Giorgio. PhD students currently studying abroad will be able to participate online. Only second- or third-year PhD students are permitted to participate. Course materials will be in English, and lectures will be held in Italian, with the option of interaction in English. A final assessment test will be required.
