VISIONARY at SIAMOC2025

Advancements in biofeedback and upper limb kinematics processing

From October 1st to 4th, 2025, the city of Cagliari hosted the SIAMOC 2025 congress, a context in which the VISIONARY project consortium illustrated its technological advancements through two oral presentations. The first contribution, entitled “EMG-based visual biofeedback applied to upper limb motor tasks in virtual environment” (G. Sedda, E. Ariu, R. Melis, J. Vacca, M. E. Lai, G. Pili, M. Caruso, D. Balta, M. Coduri, C. Pierella, L. Lutzoni, M. Casadio, A. Cereatti, D. Pani), focuses on the application of visual biofeedback in virtual environments for upper limb motor tasks. The second work, “Minimizing wearables, maximizing insight: fusing complementary strength of IMUs and RGB-D for upper body kinematics in home rehabilitation” (M. Caruso, D. Balta, F. Bauducco, M. Coduri, G. Corniani, C. Pierella, G. Sedda, J. Vacca, M. Casadio, P. Bonato, D. Pani, A. Cereatti), presents a novel optimization algorithm for data derived from different sensors for upper limb tracking in a telerehabilitation context. Both presented studies have generated corresponding submissions for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The full abstracts are available in the official proceedings.
