Landsat 9 launched on 27 September 2021

Landsat 9 for Earth observation has been launched on 27 September 2021.

Landsat 9 is a partnership between the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) that will continue the Landsat program’s critical role of repeat global observations for monitoring, understanding, and managing Earth’s natural resources.

Remote sensing data for environmental monitoring

The second appointment with the seminars organized by the Scientific
Commission of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of
Politecnico di Milano (CS3) is approaching. The theme of the second seminar,
which will take place on 13 April 2021 (9:00 o’clock, 7:00 gmt), is: “Remote sensing data for
environmental monitoring”.
The seminar will be held in English and will see the presence of several
speakers, including prominent personalities from the international scientific
community:
– Bob Su, University of Twente
– Yves-Luois Desnos, European Space Agency (ESA)

Novità per la modellistica previsionale meteo di Arpae

Cambia la catena di assimilazione dei dati osservati e, per la prima volta, vengono introdotti i dati tridimensionali dei radar meteorologi.

Un cambio di passo estremamente significativo per la modellistica meteorologica numerica dell’Agenzia per l’ambiente dell’Emilia-Romagna che ne migliora sensibilmente le prestazioni operative. Per la prima volta, dopo tre anni di sviluppo e sperimentazione, dallo scorso 12 marzo le previsioni meteorologiche modellistiche ad alta risoluzione, prodotte dalla Struttura IdroMeteoClima di Arpae (Arpae Simc), introducono nell’iter operativo i dati tridimensionali di riflettività dei radar meteorologici italiani.
