Monday, March 3: Institutional Event Between Spoke 9 and Key Departments of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia
On Monday, March 3, a joint event took place between Spoke 9 and the main departments, agencies, and institutions of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia—a key opportunity for dialogue and the exchange of ideas, results, and planning of next steps in synergy between Spoke 9 (comprising the Universities of Cagliari and Sassari) and the Region.
The meeting opened with remarks by Prof. Gianni Fenu, Deputy Rector and Scientific Coordinator of the e.INS project, and Dr. Gianluca Cadeddu, Programme Manager. This was followed by a presentation from Prof. Alessandra Carucci, Scientific Coordinator of Spoke 9, who introduced the structure and objectives of the five Work Packages (WPs).
Each WP team then presented their progress and research activities, with a focus on increasing the territorial impact of their work—one of the core goals of the e.INS Regional Innovation Ecosystem.
- Prof. Antonio Pusceddu (UniCA) presented the activities of WP1 – Protection and enhancement of wetland systems – WP1 slides;
- Prof. Giovanna Cappai (UniCA) presented WP2 – Restoration and remediation of polluted mining sites – WP2 slides;
- Prof. Aldo Muntoni (UniCA) presented WP3 – Implementation of circular economy in the regional agro-industrial sector – WP3 slides;
- Prof. Stefania Da Pelo (UniCA) presented WP4 – Protection of coastal areas and groundwater reserves from natural and anthropogenic impacts – WP4 slides;
- Dr. Maria Teresa Tiloca (UniSS) presented WP5 – Optimization of green infrastructures in urban and agro-silvo-pastoral systems – WP5 slides.
The presentations received strong interest from representatives of the Region, marking what is expected to be the first of several collaborative dialogue sessions planned during the final year of the project.
