GOAL OF THE COURSE
The course has the objective to introduce the concepts of Quality of Experience (QoE) management approaches for multimedia services. The assessment of the QoE has become essential for network providers and multimedia service providers to consider the quality as perceived by the users of the services. Subjective and objective approaches are utilized to assess the user’s perceived QoE and the results of QoE assessments are the basis to derive QoE models, which can then be used to monitor the QoE of the provided services. In this course, the student will learn how to conduct a subjective quality assessment and how to derive an objective QoE model from the collected subjective data. Moreover, traditional and emerging QoE modeling approaches will be explored. Finally, QoE monitoring and management techniques are discussed.
REQUIREMENTS
The student must have basic knowledge of statistics.
