Prof. Luigi Atzori, Director of Net4U Lab, will be in Osaka this week for two important events.
The first one takes place today, September 8th, 2025, at Expo 2025 in the Italian Pavilion: the conference “Emerging Technologies Houses – Innovation from the Italian territories for the cities of the future”. This event will foster a stimulating discussion between six Italian Emerging Technology Houses and the University of Osaka.
Representing the CTE Cagliari, Prof. Atzori will speak during the second panel, titled “Digital technologies and creativity: new perspectives for culture, crafts, tourism, and local areas”, where he will share his insights on “XR for Virtual Tourism and Social Interaction.” He will be joined by Prof. Daisuke Iwai (Graduate School of Engineering Science) and Associate Prof. Yuichi Ohsita (D3 Center), both from the University of Osaka.
On Tuesday, September 9th, Prof. Atzori will give a talk at the University of Osaka titled “Understanding User Experience in Streaming and VR: A QoE-Centric Approach.” This invitation comes from the UOsaka XR Group, led by Prof. Daisuke Iwai, which focuses on advanced XR technologies.
Both of these events are an excellent opportunity to showcase the potential of emerging technologies in making cultural heritage more accessible and tourism more sustainable.
