We’re excited to share that Giovanni Pettorru recently showcased his work at the IEEE Global Communications Conference (GLOBECOM 2025), held from December 8th to 12th in Taipei, Taiwan.
Event Highlights:
On December 10th, Giovanni presented a paper he co-authored with Marco Martalò, titled “Evaluation of Resource-Aware HTTP/3 Proxies for Smuggling Resilience in IoT Environments.”, which explores how HTTP/3 proxies can effectively mitigate request-smuggling risks in IoT systems.
In addition to this, Giovanni was a finalist in the 4-Minute Thesis (4MT) Competition on December 8, where he presented a compelling overview of his work on the LENS project, demonstrating how Location-Based Services (LBS) can enhance emergency response and enable real-time decision-making. Pettorru’s performance earned him a well-deserved 3rd place!
The GLOBECOM is a leading event organized by the IEEE Communications Society, gathering industry leaders and researchers to discuss innovations in communications technology. The 4-Minute Thesis (4MT) Competition, part of GLOBECOM, challenges PhD students to present their research to a non-specialist audience in just four minutes. This experience enhances their communication skills and boosts their visibility in the academic community.
