Åse Marit Leere Øiestad is a senior researcher at the Section of Forensic Toxicological Analytics, Department of Forensic Sciences, Oslo University Hospital. Øiestad holds a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Oslo. Øiestad has been working in the field of forensic toxicology since 2002, with focus on developing methods for analysis of narcotics and medicinal drugs in human samples with the aid of mass spectrometry. Research interests include new psychoactive substances, in vitro metabolism studies, analysis of different autopsy matrices and high-resolution mass spectrometry.
