🧪 Group Overview
CIRCE Technology Center (Spain) is a research institute focused on advancing sustainable industrial processes through circular economy strategies and biomass valorisation technologies. Its circular economy work includes developing innovative recycling methods, designing circularity strategies for industry, and optimizing the management and reuse of materials to promote resource efficiency and reduce waste generation.
In the field of thermal treatments and biomass valorisation, CIRCE specializes in the assessment, logistics, and efficient use of different biomass, as well as developing technologies to convert biomass and waste into valuable products. CIRCE researchers actively contribute to the advancement of thermochemical conversion processes such as Hydrothermal carbonization, pyrolysis, and gasification, participating in international forums and presenting work on thermal decomposition of waste plastics and biomass, highlighting their expertise in high‑temperature valorisation routes.
Through this combined focus on circular resource use and advanced thermal conversion technologies, CIRCE supports industries in reducing environmental impacts, improving energy efficiency, and transitioning toward more sustainable and decarbonized production models.
