🔬 Group Overview

Faculty of Technology (University of Niš) is active in ecological and environmental engineering, focusing on sustainable process technologies, waste and biomass valorisation, and environmental protection. In addition, the faculty offers programmes and research in food technology, materials and textile engineering, supporting applied research and industry collaboration.

⚙️ Department of chemical engineering conduct research on hydrothermal carbonization (HTC) and hydrochar production using laboratory and bench-scale reactors (up to 10 L). Our work focuses on the conversion of invasive plant species, insect biomass, and fruit-processing residues into functional hydrochar, including process optimization, material characterization, and environmental applications such as soil improvement and sustainable energy solutions.
