Paolo Castello
Paolo Castello is Assistant Professor (RTD) in the Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, at the University of Cagliari.
He received the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering in 2010 and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic and Computer Engineering from the University of Cagliari, with the dissertation: “Algorithms for the synchrophasor measurement in steady-state and dynamic conditions” in 2014.
He received the 2017 National Instruments Academic Grant and 2017 Best Application in Instrumentation & Measurement Award in the field of the new monitoring systems and devices for distribution networks.
He is member of IEEE and of the italian Electrical and Electronic Measurements Group Association, GMEE.
His research activity focuses on:
– developing algorithms for synchrophasor calculation
– characterization and testing of Phasor Measurement Units
– implementation of IEC 61850 standard
