The electroless Ni-P coatings deposited on steel coatings have been used so far for their anti-corrosion and wear properties; they are currently of interest due to their low hydrogen permeability. The simplicity of production and the possibility of achieving a homogeneous coating, regardless of the geometry of the substrate, make the electroless deposition process of the Ni-P alloy a candidate for \u2018in situ\u2019 applications in existing pipelines.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text is-stacked-on-mobile\"><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"784\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/superfici\/files\/2026\/03\/Ni-P-hydrogen-barrier-1024x784.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-803 size-full\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/superfici\/files\/2026\/03\/Ni-P-hydrogen-barrier-1024x784.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/superfici\/files\/2026\/03\/Ni-P-hydrogen-barrier-300x230.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/superfici\/files\/2026\/03\/Ni-P-hydrogen-barrier-768x588.jpg 768w, https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/superfici\/files\/2026\/03\/Ni-P-hydrogen-barrier-1536x1176.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/superfici\/files\/2026\/03\/Ni-P-hydrogen-barrier.jpg 1988w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p>The review summarizes literature references that studied electroless Ni-P coatings as HPB. Melt spun Ni<sub>81<\/sub>P<sub>19<\/sub> alloys, electroless Ni-P coatings on mild steel and electroless Ni-P coatings on API X70 steel, showing that Ni-P coatings have very low hydrogen diffusion coefficients Df. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Publication: <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D.
