Prof. Marco Guicciardi

Psychologist and psychotherapist, registered with the Order of Psychologists since 1991, with subsequent registration for the practice of psychotherapy (pursuant to Articles 3 and 35, Law No. 56/89). Associate Professor of Psychometrics at the University of Cagliari (from 2000 to present). Qualified as a Full Professor in competitive sector 11E_1 SSD PSIC-01/C (formerly M-PSI/03) since 2021. Former Vice President of the Italian Society of Health Psychology (SIPSA) (2020-23).
His research in health psychology has resulted in the application of psychological investigation methods and the development of measurement tools designed to enhance individual, group, and community resources with a view to developing personal and collective well-being. His professional interests include: a) school maladjustment, learning difficulties, and socialization difficulties in students with disabilities; b) internet addiction, psychoactive substance addiction, and use of performance-enhancing drugs in young people; c) mental health diagnosis and rehabilitation interventions; c) treatment adherence, lifestyle factors, and affective and cognitive problems in people with chronic illnesses (diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis); d) leading training groups for psychologists, psychotherapists, and social health workers.
INSTITUTIONAL ACTIVITIES: Director of the School of Specialization in Health Psychology from 2019 to September 30, 2025; Member of the Doctoral School in Philosophy, Epistemology, and Human Sciences from 2020 to present; Quality Assurance Coordinator and member of the Self-Evaluation Commission (CAV) (from 2015 to 2021); Member of the Board (2013-18) and (from 2021 to present); member of the Ethics Committee of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Philosophy of the University of Cagliari (2010-18). Member of the Steering Committee of the Psychology degree courses of the University of Cagliari (from 2009 to present) and former member of the Self-Evaluation Commission (CAV) of the Psychology degree courses (2009-18). President of the Joint Commission University – Order of Psychologists (pursuant to art. 1. Paragraph 2 of Ministerial Decree 239/92) (2010-18) and appointed several times as President of the Commission for the State Examination for the qualification to practice the profession of Psychologist.
