Health Psychology Specialization School of the Department of Pedagogy, Psychology, Philosophy

Daniela Putzolu

Psychologist, specializing in Health Psychology, registered with the Order of Psychologists of Sardinia (n. 3727). I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychological Sciences and Techniques with a dissertation on Stress and Burnout in Law Enforcement, titled “The Weight of the Uniform.” This marked the beginning of my professional and academic interest in occupational health. I continued my studies in Cagliari with a master’s degree in Developmental and Socio-Work Processes Psychology, with a specific focus on labor and organizational issues. In 2022, I graduated with an exploratory dissertation entitled “Doctor, who cures you ipsum?” The subject of this dissertation was a qualitative and quantitative investigation into the occupational health of general practitioners in the provinces of Oristano and Cagliari during the pandemic. Growing increasingly passionate about workplace well-being and healthcare, I began my postgraduate internship at the Prevention and Protection Service of the Cagliari Hospital. This experience allowed me to monitor and collaborate from the early stages in the design of various interventions aimed at promoting workplace well-being, preventing psychosocial risks such as work-related stress, and providing individual support to healthcare personnel. During my internship, I specifically led CME courses on Stress and Burnout for employees, and managed and conducted participatory observation at the company’s counseling center. I then earned a Master’s Degree in Military Psychology from La Sapienza University in Rome, completing a highly practical internship at the psychological counseling center of the Cagliari Presidiari infirmary, a service available to all military personnel. I obtained my license and have been officially registered with the Military Register since December 2023. My decision to specialize in Health Psychology stems from my strong belief that psychology should be a primary, preventative resource, and not merely a last resort in cases of extreme psychological or physical distress. Investing in well-being, and no longer just in treating discomfort, is what drives my approach as a health professional (even before a healthcare profession), investing in everyone’s well-being through multi-level psychoeducation.
