Carla Cossu

A psychologist registered with the Order of Psychologists of Sardinia (n. 3230). She graduated with honors from the University of Cagliari with a degree in Developmental and Work Process Psychology, specializing in Development. She participated in research and clinical activities during her postgraduate internship, focusing on language, the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder, and the diagnosis and treatment of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder at the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Unit of the Antonio Cao Microcythemic Pediatric Hospital (ARNAS Brotzu). She subsequently furthered her study of developmental trajectories by completing the second-level Master’s program in Learning Psychopathology at the University of Cagliari, with a thesis entitled “Cognitive Assessment in Specific Learning Disorders: Analysis of a Clinical Sample.” During her Master’s internship, she trained in psychodiagnostics at the UOC-NPIA (Complex Operational Unit – Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry) of the Cagliari Local Health Authority (ASL), located in the Cittadella della Salute, focusing specifically on Specific Learning Disorders. She continued her education with a two-year Master’s degree in Socio-Educational Counseling at the Pontifical Salesian University, participating as an intern in an educational project aimed at individuals with psychiatric disorders, which also involved their parents in group therapy led by psychotherapists. She furthered her training by attending the Specialization Course in Cognitive Developmental Disorders, Language Disorders, Learning Difficulties, and Neuropsychological Disorders at APSIA (Association of Childhood and Adolescent Psychotherapy). She also consolidated her diagnostic skills at the Childhood and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry Unit of the S. Barbara Hospital in Iglesias, part of the Sulcis Local Health Authority. She also specialized in the treatment and enhancement of neuropsychological skills in neurodevelopmental disorders at the Logos Gesti e Parole Center in Monserrato, where she subsequently worked. Interested in the values ​​of inclusion, she decided to further her education by attending the Specialization Course for Support Activities, becoming a specialized teacher. She further developed her skills in the school sector of Special Educational Needs through further courses and, in addition, attended the Specialization Course to become a Learning Tutor at the University of Padua. Currently, in addition to her teaching, she works as a school psychologist, implementing orientation and mentoring programs in schools, and as a learning psychologist, providing consulting, assessment, treatment, and study support services, focusing on the psychological well-being of children and adolescents by developing programs tailored to their individual characteristics. She is currently attending the School of Specialization in Health Psychology.
