Summer School Prion and Prion-like Neurodegenerative\u00a0 Disorders 3rd Edition<\/strong><\/p>\n

On behalf of organizing committee, we are delighted to announce the third edition of Prion and Prion-like Neurodegenerative Disorders<\/strong> which will be held from September 24th (Sun) to September 28th in the small town of Desenzano del Garda<\/strong>, near Verona.<\/p>\n

As last year, aim of the annual Summer School is to provide an informal and interactive environment to review and discuss the clinical and molecular highlights on these diseases, including basic cell biology, biochemistry, disease phenotypes and therapeutic strategies.<\/p>\n

Of course, the molecular biology of prions\u00a0 and the pathogenic mechanisms have linked them to other neurodegenerative pathologies such as Alzheimer\u2019s and Parkinson\u2019s diseases, now referred as prion-like disorders. The causative proteins of Parkinson\u2019s disease and Alzheimer\u2019s disease, namely A\u03b2-protein, Tau protein and Alpha-synuclein have shown that they have similar characteristics of prion proteins including self-propagation.<\/p>\n

The Summer school is principally devoted to young researchers, post-doc fellows, medical residents, and graduate students, who for different\u00a0reasons have to face in their professional activities and research issues to prion and prion-like diseases.<\/p>\n

The participation will be free via registration online by completing a form available at the website, up to a maximum of 70\u00a0participants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are hoping that everyone will contribute to making a great success and a meaningful meeting for all involved. We look forward to see you in Desenzano del Garda.<\/p>\n
