These are the picture-postcard colours of <em>Punta Molentis<\/em>, one of the pearls of <strong>Villasimius<\/strong> (and the whole <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-969 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.unica.it\/orbitaly2017\/files\/2017\/09\/punta-molentis-2-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/orbitaly2017\/files\/2017\/09\/punta-molentis-2-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/orbitaly2017\/files\/2017\/09\/punta-molentis-2.jpg 760w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>of southern Sardinia), to be found along the panoramic provincial road to <strong>Castiadas<\/strong> and <strong>Costa Rei<\/strong>. The crystal clear waters lap the fine, white sand, whose reflections light up the coastline. The promontory and beach are part of the <strong>Capo Carbonara marine area<\/strong> and are named for <em>sumolenti<\/em>, the donkey, used in the past to transport the material extracted from the surrounding granite quarries. The granite rocks stand out like shipwrecks where the shore is tinged with pink at sunset.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino,serif;font-size: 14pt\">Divided into several coves, <em>Punta Molentis<\/em> is overlooked by Mediterranean bushes and cactus with multi-coloured flowers, lending the panorama an unusual appearance and scenting the air. The triumph of nature is completed with rabbits and aquatic birds. The beach is curved, closed at the northern end by a small promontory and to the east by a mass of quarried rocks. The tones of the sea vary from emerald green to turquoise and azure. The waters are <\/span><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino,serif;font-size: 14pt\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-970 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/sites.unica.it\/orbitaly2017\/files\/2017\/09\/punta-molentis-3-300x178.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"178\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/orbitaly2017\/files\/2017\/09\/punta-molentis-3-300x178.jpg 300w, https:\/\/sites.unica.it\/orbitaly2017\/files\/2017\/09\/punta-molentis-3.jpg 760w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/span><span style=\"font-family: book antiqua,palatino,serif;font-size: 14pt\">shallow, and the seabed sandy. The beach&#8217;s shape, like an isthmus, makes it fairly sheltered from the wind.
