Il gruppo di ricerca di Misure Elettriche ed Elettroniche ha una pluridecennale esperienza su definizione, progettazione, implementazione e caratterizzazione di dispositivi e sistemi di misura.
Le misure per le Smart Grid, la sincronizzazione in sistemi distribuiti e la Power Quality sono tra le tematiche principali, sviluppate anche in progetti di ricerca e trasferimento tecnologico finanziati da istituzioni pubbliche (MIUR, RAS, ecc.) e organizzazioni private. Tra le altre, è possibile citare la collaborazione con Terna per l’impiego e la caratterizzazione delle unità di misura fasoriali (PMU). Collaborazioni internazionali sono attive anche con le Università di Aachen, Liverpool, Berkeley e South Carolina e all’interno della collaborazione DarkSide dedicato al rilevamento della materia oscura.
Nell’anno 2022 si è conclusa la terza Valutazione della Qualità della Ricerca (VQR), relativa agli anni 2015-19 e realizzata dall’Agenzia Nazionale di Valutazione del Sistema Universitario e della Ricerca (Anvur) con la collaborazione di 645 esperti e oltre 11.000 revisori esterni, italiani e stranieri. A seguito di tale valutazione il Gruppo I&M di Unica ha confermato il livello di eccellenza ottenuto nella VQR 2011-14.
In particolare, il Gruppo I&M di Unica è risultato al primo posto tra i gruppi di Misure di tutte le Università Italiane presenti in graduatoria.
Nell’anno 2020 in cui l’Università degli Studi di Cagliari festeggia i 400 anni, la prestigiosa rivista internazionale IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, TIM, la rivista di riferimento nel settore delle misure elettriche ed elettroniche, festeggia i 70 anni. In occasione di tale anniversario, TIM ha attribuito un riconoscimento a coloro che hanno maggiormente contribuito al suo successo nel corso di tutti i 70 anni e degli ultimi 7 in particolare. Diverse categorie sono state premiate, dagli autori ai membri del comitato editoriale e ai revisori più attivi. In questo contesto il Gruppo di Misure Elettriche ed Elettroniche dell’Università degli Studi di Cagliari si è posizionato brillantemente in tutte le classifiche. In particolare, Carlo Muscas compare nella top 10 della classifica “Top 70 most-published authors of all time” nella quale rientra anche Paolo Attilio Pegoraro. Carlo Muscas e Paolo Attilio Pegoraro compaiono anche nella top 10 della classifica “Top 70 most-published authors in the past 7 years”, nella quale rientra anche Sara Sulis. I membri del Gruppo Misure, Paolo Castello, Carlo Muscas, Paolo Attilio Pegoraro e Sara Sulis, sono presenti anche nella classifica “Top 70 most-cited articles published in the past seven years“ con 3 articoli, di cui uno nella Top 10.

The Instrumentation and Measurement Group has decades of experience in the definition, design, implementation and characterization of measuring devices and systems.
Measurements for Smart Grids, synchronization in distributed systems and Power Quality monitoring are among the main topics, developed also in research and technology transfer projects financed by public institutions (MIUR, RAS, etc.) and private organizations. Among others, it is possible to mention the collaboration with Terna for the use and characterization of the phasor measurement units (PMU). International collaborations are also active with the Universities of Aachen, Liverpool, Berkeley and South Carolina and within the DarkSide collaboration dedicated to the detection of dark matter.
In the year 2022, the third Research Quality Assessment (VQR) was completed, relating to the years 2015-19 and carried out by the National Agency for the Evaluation of the University and Research System (Anvur) with the collaboration of 645 experts and over 11,000 external auditors, Italian and foreign. According to this assessment, the I&M Group of the University of Cagliari confirmed the level of excellence obtained in the 2011-14 VQR.
In particular, the I&M Group ranked first among the Instrumentation and Measurement groups of all the Italian Universities present in the ranking.
In the year 2020 in which the University of Cagliari celebrates its 400th anniversary, the prestigious international journal IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, TIM, the reference journal in the field of electrical and electronic measurements, celebrates its 70th anniversary. On this anniversary, TIM awarded those who have contributed most to its success throughout the 70 years and the last 7 in particular. Several categories were honored, from authors to editorial board members and the most active reviewers. In this context, the Group of Instrumentation and Measurement of the University of Cagliari has positioned itself brilliantly in all rankings. In particular, Carlo Muscas appears in the top 10 of the “Top 70 most-published authors of all time” ranking, which also includes Paolo Attilio Pegoraro.
