The MeDSP Lab team during the first day of the Summer School TSPPM-2021 at the Anatomic Theater of the University of Cagliari.<\/p><\/div>\n

The entire team was involved in the organization of the Second International Summer School on Technologies and Signal Processing in Perinatal Medicine <\/strong><\/a>(TSPPM-2021)<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Second International Summer School on Technologies and Signal Processing in Perinatal Medicine, organized by Prof. Danilo Pani<\/a><\/strong>, saw the participation of many lecturers<\/a> from all over the world.<\/p>\n

TSPPM-2021 is the second edition, the first one was organized in 2018 in Pula (TSPPM-2018<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n

This exciting event was focused on the fascinating world of biomedical engineering applied to fetal and newborn care. During the six days of the Summer School, the program was dense of lectures<\/a>. Six days, six different openings<\/a>. Each day was opened in a different setting, so as to let the students know and discover (even if virtually), some enchanting places of South Sardinia.<\/p>\n

More than thirty students attended this second edition of the school (including Ph.D. students, Post Docs, MSc students, and research associates), which was done entirely online on Microsoft Teams due to health emergency restrictions from Covid-19.<\/p>\n

During the morning of the sixth and last day, from the headquarters of Sardegna Ricerche<\/a><\/strong>, Polaris Sardinian Scientific and Technological Park, the organizer assigned the prize for the best student poster. The \u201cBest Student Poster Award<\/em><\/strong>\u201d TSPPM-2021 was awarded to Johann Vargas-Calixto<\/strong>\u00a0for his poster \u201cPrediction of Risk of Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy Using Fetal Heart Rate Variability and Clinical Variables<\/em>\u201d by \u201cJohann Vargas-Calixto, Yvonne Wu, Michael Kuzniewicz, Marie Cornet, Heather Forquer, Lawrence Gerstley, Emily Hamilton, Philip Warrick, Robert Kearney\u201d.<\/p>\n

It was a really nice Summer School, interesting issues were addressed, enlightening papers were presented and important collaborations were born. To discover more details about the school:<\/p>\n
