Following an MSc in Neuropsychobiology, he earned his PhD in Neuroscience at the University of Cagliari (Supervisor MA De Luca). Since 2013, Dr. Pintori has been active in the field of neuroscience, focusing on the neurobiology of addiction and the role of mesolimbic and mesocortical dopaminergic transmission, utilizing animal models and\u00a0in vivo\u00a0neurochemical techniques. During his doctoral studies, he developed expertise in neurochemistry and behavioral pharmacology, specifically regarding the pharmacological and toxicological properties of synthetic cannabinoids. From 2019 to 2021, he conducted research at the University of Verona within the Neuropsychopharmacology Laboratory of Prof. Cristiano Chiamulera, investigating the mechanisms underlying the reactivation and reconsolidation of maladaptive memories in murine models with a history of food or drug self-administration. In 2024, he further expanded his expertise as a Visiting Researcher at the Laboratory of Experimental and Clinical Neurosciences (LNEC), University of Poitiers (France), in the team of Dr. Marcello Solinas. There, he acquired technical skills in validated translational behavioral paradigms to study in rodents the involvement of cognitive functions\u2014such as flexibility, impulsivity, and decision-making\u2014in neuropsychiatric disorders.
