An ICT integrated approach to monitor and manage pregnancy development<\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The <\/span>project ICT4MOMs<\/b> aims at realizing a novel pregnancy remote monitoring ICT service<\/strong>, based on the integration of wearable sensors and devices, connected through a smartphone app with an ob-gyn clinical center. <\/span><\/p>\n

Although pregnancy by itself should not be considered a life-threatening event, the antepartum period is usually considered a very critical time window for both mothers and fetuses. ICT4MOMs integrates technologies and medical knowledge with new signal and data analysis methodologies to monitor<\/strong> and predict<\/strong> the condition of women and fetuses during pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Starting from the assumption that continuous tracking of pregnancy evolution in time is the key characteristic to properly address maternal and fetal wellbeing, this project proposes a novel approach to redefine pregnancy monitoring with the objective to overcome the \u201cacute and sporadic care\u201d that is the nowadays adopted in clinical pregnancy controls.<\/span><\/p>\n

To achieve such an innovative design, the <\/span>Research Units<\/a> share personal expertise in prenatal pathophysiology, technology, and advanced data analysis to develop a novel personalized pregnancy control system<\/strong><\/span>, <\/strong>able to work in real-time and in a home environment<\/strong>.<\/span> The monitoring architecture is based on the following pillars: telemedicine, wearable body sensors, integrated systems, data mining, personalized medicine, and predictive analytics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
