The Summer School will host ~40-50 young scientists*. All the applicants will have to submit an abstract to present their research topic, results and goals via poster or oral presentation. Each candidate will be admitted to the Summer School after evaluation of his contribution and curriculum vitae.

The Summer School fee is of 550 euro for young scientists*, including meals and accommodation in double room with another participant of the same gender from the afternoon of 23rd September to the morning of the 28th September.

In addition, a maximum of 20 senior scientists will be admitted on request. To have information about senior scientists attendance and fees, please send an e-mail to iaaass@unica.it

TRAVEL GRANTS

Consistent efforts are made to encourage the participation of students from overall countries, particularly regarding provenance from far/disadvantaged countries. The amount of each travel grant will be decided according to the provenance of the student. Several travel grants are available from FEMS.

SIV-ISV Grants

This meeting is selected by the Italian Society for Virology (SIV-ISV) to offer 4 grants for event participation for Early Career Scientists*.

Eligibility

To apply for this grant, you would need to meet the following requirements:

  • be a member of SIV-ISV
  • be an Early Career Scientist*
  • be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)

FEMS Grants

This meeting is selected by the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS) to offer grants for event participation for Early Career Scientists*.

Eligibility

To apply for this grant, you would need to meet following requirements:

  • be a member of a FEMS Member Society* or be recommended by such a member
  • be an Early Career Scientist**
  • be an Active Microbiologist
  • be presenting author at the meeting (oral or poster)
    *Find out if your society is a FEMS Member at https://fems-microbiology.org/member-societies/**These are active microbiologists who obtained the highest academic degree – Bachelor, Master or PhD – less than five years prior to the application deadline date, or are a Master or PhD student. Periods of maternity/paternity leave, special leave or illness do not count toward this definition.
