Its mission is to transform materials traditionally considered waste into valuable resources through sustainable, circular-economy technologies, significantly reducing the amount of sludge sent for disposal while generating environmental and economic benefits.<br>At the core of B-Plas\u2019s technological approach is HTC, a thermochemical process that represents a key element of the company\u2019s modular sludge treatment systems. HTC treats organic sludge at high temperatures under self-generated pressure, converting it into hydrochar, a carbon-rich solid with high energy content. This process allows a substantial reduction in sludge mass and volume (up to approximately 80 %) and improves its downstream processability.<br>The HTC stage is fully integrated into B-Plas solutions such as the B-Sludge module, designed for efficient sludge volume reduction, and serves as the technological foundation for more advanced systems, including B-Energy, which supports enhanced biogas production, and B-Poly, which enables the conversion of carbon into volatile fatty acids and, ultimately, biodegradable bioplastics such as PHA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><div class=\"table-responsive\"><table class=\"table  table-striped table-bordered table-hover\"  class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td>\u2699\ufe0f<br>We operate laboratory-scale HTC prototypes with a reactor volume of 5 liters. In addition, we have laboratory-scale filter press prototypes for solid\u2013liquid separation.
