Airport

Elmas International Airport (CAG) connects Cagliari to major European cities. It offers direct flights to numerous cities in Italy and across Europe. Domestically, you can fly non-stop to major cities such as Rome, Milan, Bologna, Venice, Naples, Turin, and Palermo. Internationally, direct flights are available to cities including London, Paris, Frankfurt, Munich, Madrid, Barcelona, Amsterdam, and Geneva. These routes are served by airlines like Ryanair, easyJet, Volotea, Lufthansa, and British Airways, among others. Please note that some routes may be seasonal, typically operating from spring to autumn.

There are multiple ways to get to the city center from the airport: taxis, NCCs, or car rentals are available, and every train that arrives at Piazza Matteotti station in the city center stops at the airport station.

Train station and port

The port of Cagliari is a crucial port of call for scheduled ships (from Rome-Civitavecchia, Naples, and Palermo) and cruise ships traveling the Mediterranean. Sassari, Porto Torres, Oristano, and Olbia are all reachable by train from the city. The Train Station and the Port are near the city center.

Getting Around the City

Cagliari’s public transportation system, which includes the metro line and city and suburban buses, makes getting around the city quite simple. You can also rent a private vehicle at the airport or city center, or take one of the many available taxis.
