Prof. Salvatore Carta received a PhD in Electronics and Computer Science from the University of Cagliari in 2003. He is Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Cagliari since 2014. Recently, he has focused on topics related to the social Web, ubiquitous computing and computational societies. In particular he works on algorithms for social search and recommendation, and on algorithms and strategies in the fields of mobile Human Computer Interaction and mHealth.

Dr. Andreas Kaltenbrunner is Head of the Digital Humanities research group at Eurecat. His research is centred on social media and social network analysis. He uses methods from computer science and the study of complex systems to resolve sociological research questions. Dr. Kaltenbrunner obtained his Ph.D. from the University Pompeu Fabra in Computer Science and Digital Communication in 2008.

Dr. Matteo Manca is a researcher in the Digital Humanities research group at Eurecat, which he joined in September 2015; his main research activities are related to social media mining, social networks analysis and computational social science. Currently Matteo’s efforts are focused on exploiting advanced computer science techniques to infer relevant information from social media streaming data in different domains and on the visualization of spatio-temporal social media data. In 2014 he earned his PhD in computer science from the University of Cagliari with a thesis focused on the study and implementation of social recommendation approaches for the social media domain. In 2009, Matteo got his master degree in computer science from the same university. Before joining Eurecat, he had worked in a rare diseases centre as computer scientist and he gained experiences in different software companies. Moreover, he has worked as intern in CureMetrix (working remotely) San Diego (CA) – USA and in the Web mining group at Yahoo! Researcher Barcelona.
