Pilot Projects

Pilot Projects

Solar Energy plants have been realised in five out of six eligible regions: Al-Iskandanyah (Egypt); Lebanon (Lebanon);  Al-Aqaba (Jordan); Tunis (Tunisia); Sardinia (Italy).

Five public buildings host innovative solar photovoltaic plants. Public buildings have been selected in order to test different technological solutions and architectural  ways of integration.

The TSC, the scientific structure of the project,  is in charge to evaluate and choose the most appropriate solar technology for the realisation of pilot projects, taking into account  products and market trends, technologies already experimented at Mediterranean basin level and in the regions involved in the project and trying to carry on local experiences. Moreover,  TSC will also take into account innovative tools such as luminescence concentrators or conventional solar concentrators as indicated by the final European Commission inter service consultation.
